CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19

UPDATE & RESPONSE - BATTISTA HOCKEY

This is a very unprecedented time with the current pandemic of the coronavirus / COVID - 19. As we are quarantined with the sanctions in place to help prevent the further spread of this rapid virus, it can create a lot of confusion and uncertainty. We hope that everyone is staying safe, informed, and doing their part to help with the current situation.

We wanted to take the time to give a proper update to the players, parents, and general community that support our brand. With our business still growing and relatively young, the pandemic and its effects had put us into new territory. The first questions raised were about our current sessions and the overall safety of the players. The rapidly changing news reports and updates were something we monitored very heavily but this also made it very difficult to project where things would go. Many discussions were had among our coaches about if it would even be necessary to hold these camps & events considering the cancellations up to that point with everything from the NHL to local playoffs and post seasons. We talked in depth with the management at Center Ice Arena and worked closely with their plans to read and react accordingly. We made sure to stay in touch with each parent and player and update them as much as possible. Many players remained interested in the camp/lessons with a good amount deciding to opt out as well. We made it clear that no player was obligated or forced to attend the sessions and it was completely their choice to that point. After this and many discussions over the weekend and into Monday, we inherently decided to postpone the events. Not shortly after, Center Ice Arena closed its doors completely along with many other rinks and hockey specific businesses as in accordance with the Governors mandates. This had also put a complete hold on all PRIVATE LESSONS scheduled and postponed all other events through the end of March. All other events are currently still scheduled but in a holding pattern as the situation continues to develop. We are working with each player and parent to update them the best we can to give more in depth announcements and updates regarding how things currently are and will operate for the time being until everything is in a more sound place.

With all the updates above- We wanted to make it a point to say that everyones safety as an individuals and as families, is the most important thing in a time like this. As much as these decisions that all businesses, leagues, schools, etc. had to make, they were absolutely not taken lightly. It is effecting all of us in many different ways. This is all in the name of bringing this pandemic to a stop as quickly as possible. As we are not medical professionals in any way at BH, we try to stay as informed as possible and believe anything that can potentially be harmful to the players is something that has to be taken seriously and we follow along with the updates and CDC recommendations.

We sincerely hope that you all are doing well physically, mentally, and emotionally during this quarantine. Please stay safe and informed and we will be back on the ice in no time!
